  1. I like the references to film scenes & actors. Your descriptions of places & characters are better thsn the first read I had, & evoke a sense in the reader that they living & seeing them too. Venice beach ⭐️ is one of the best examples. Good luck with this venture Philip.

  2. I enjoy Phil’s writing the most when he is poetic, precise, generous with himself and delight us with an understated humor. As for travel writing, I would love to feel more of the smells and sounds, the details and fabric of particular environments as well as going a level deeper in what happens within the soul of our traveller on his way.

  3. Hey Phil,
I have read and enjoyed your work. It’s fortunate that you decide on your travel plans before the pandemic. Otherwise you could not have beaten Phileas, with all the quarantines in place!
I have enjoyed the adventure you had in Poland. And I was intrigued by your traveling partner, Sofia, in Day 5 Siberia. Perhaps you have a proper introduction done in the earlier chapters but this is me, your friend, showing a little concern and much curiosity here.
And I must say I have relished every word in Day 15 SZX & HKG because Hong Kong has been and will always have a special place in my heart too. Many of the places mentioned can be vividly pictured in my mind’s eye.
Day 30 Pacific Ocean has caught me by surprise, despite my work in this industry, I didn’t realize that we can actually catch a ride on cargo ship. Yes, I do recall you mentioning this in one of our conversations many moons ago.
To sum up, I appreciate your British humor, the honest insight into your thoughts, feelings and the sharing of bits and pieces of your personal history I could not have known otherwise.
However, some thoughts came rather randomly in your book. Perhaps this makes it more real, I am a reader of fictions and may not be the best to comment on this…
Other than that, I would love to see more pictures of your travel as inserts in respective chapters. And I would think a pictorial representation of the route you have taken against the journey made by Phileas would be fun… you can include the dates here! And finally, monetary budget of your trip in the appendix or at the end of the book may also be something of interest to some readers. Tips you have included at the end of some chapters appeal to this group ?
I’m looking forward to your publication. So, do keep us posted!
    Way to go, Phil!
